ART COMPETITIONS AT THE OLYMPICS 1912-48
The competitions in architecture, literature, music, painting and sculpture, or the cultural olympiad as it was sometimes called, were not an actual part of the Olympics, but held in connection with it. It was discontinued after the London games in 1948. Medals taken in the Arts are not counted in the International Olympic Committee medal database.
